It was confirmed via his representatives. that on 27^th June 2018 he had been released from his contract with Cash Money Records. However after facing may delays now it is announced that. the album is going to be released on his birthday  27^th September 2018. He is previously stated to retire at the age of 35. and the Tha Carter V would be his final album.
