Nia Franklin Miss America 2019 was born on 27th July 1993. Nia Franklin was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In 2011 she earned graduation degree from North Davidson High School. In 2015 Nia Franklin was complete her music composition degree. In 2017 Franklin was moved to New York city. she also earned her master’s degree of fine arts from university of North Carolina School in 2017. In June 2018 Nia was became an American pageant titleholder. Franklin was also crowned as Miss New York 2018. And finally in 2019 Nia Franklin was crowned as Miss America 2019 by Cara Mund.

On 9th September 2019 Miss America 2019’s live competition was held in Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic city, New Jersey. This competition was judged by Jessie James Decker, Randy Jackson, Laila Ali, Soledad O’Brien, Bobby Jones, Alli Webb and Carnie Wilson. Miss America 2019’s competition was co-hosted by Ross Mathews and Carrie Ann Inaba. Among with other changes, The 2019’s Miss America competition made a history by eliminating the swimsuit portion. During her acceptance speech at the end of competition Nia Franklin was thanked to her loved ones. She also said that "It took a lot of perseverance to get here. and I want to thank my family, my mom and dad, who is a survivor of cancer. And all my sisters behind me, I love each and every one of you". On show Good Morning. America Miss America 1989, Gretchen Carlson said that “We are no longer a pageant. We are a competition”.
