Joaquin Phoenix started his career in acting with his siblings, his brother River Phoenix and sister Summer Phoenix.

He received international attention for his great work in the film Quills. In 2000 his epic work for film Gladiator he earned the Academy Award for best supporting Actor.
In 2006 Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science invited Joaquin Phoenix to join them. In 2007 for the film We Own the Night, which hi also produced, reunited with director James Gray. in 2010 after releasing Joaquin Phoenix’s self produced mockumentary film “I’m Still Here”. He took self imposed break for acting. Soon in 2011 it is announced that Joaquin Phoenix is coming back to acting in Paul Thomas’s movie “The Master”. The Master was released in 2012.
