Earthquake in Southern California :- Hello friends welcome to this page. This page is all about a 4.4 magnitude earthquake. On Tuesday night around 7.33 p.m. local time A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck in Southern California. La Verne in sun Gabriel Valley is the place where the earthquake was firstly strucked. In the sun Gabriel Valley the quake centered about three miles north of La Verne. Many people are stuck under the debris of buildings. Some of these are critically injured and some are died due to stuck under the debris. According to U.S. Geological Survey  Coachella valley was rocked by a 3.0 magnitude earthquake and also in Desert Hot Springs , north indio.



There is no quick updates available to media for 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake that struck in Southern California. The earthquake was struck all of sudden at Tuesday night on 7.33pm. In northwest the earthquake was felt 40 miles away in Sylmar. and in South it felt 30 miles away at Huntington Beach. Lucy Jones seismologist said that it should not be expected from Tuesday’s quake to have any damage. On an ancillary structure that was the largest in the region, the quake wasn't on the Sierra Madre fault.




4.4 La Verne earthquake shakes Coachella Valley



The 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake was followed by a 3.4 Magnitude Earthquake. Both range of quake broke the surface of earth within four miles. Lucy Jones seismologist said that the quake is capable to produce 6.0 to 7.0 rage. In earth’s lithosphere a Sudden release of energy that creates seismic waves is called earthquake. We can understand earthquake as the shaking of surface of earth known as earthquake. A seismic moment in earth’s surface caused by nature or human is also known as earthquake.

  2. Normal

  3. Reverse (Thrust)





  1. Strike Slip:- When the two sides of the fault past each other and slip horizontally, Strike Slip faults.

  2. Normal :- We can take normal and reverse(Thrust) earthquakes as the example of dip-slip. At the area where the crust is being extended is the place where the normal earthquake mainly occurs.

  3. Reverse (Thrust):- as a convergent boundary where the crust is being shortened is the place where Reverse(Thrust) occurs.
